Hunger Games

So, I absolutely love the Hunger Games. I was so excited for the movie to come out and today is the day! Finally it's here!
In honor of my Hunger Games love, I put together a little collection of things I found on Etsy. In my opinion, these things captured the heart of the Hunger Games. Some of them you may not get unless you read the books (which I HIGHLY recommend).
Guess what else is cool about these things. The most expensive is $36! These things are cute and cheap, please check out the stores by clicking on the picture :)
Anyway, here they are!

This is amazing! Anyone notice the meaning of
this? I want it!
These are so cute! I love them!
Love this saying and want this necklace :)
This may or may not be one of my favorite quotes :)
See how much detail this bracelet captures!
I loved Finnick...
I absolutely want this. It's so beautiful!

Last and certainly the most amusing to me...

The text you get from your Hunger Games fanatic brother taunting you. Thanks bro love you to!

Yeah so that was my little hunger games collection! Trust me there was a whole lot more I loved but I had to be picky.
Some may wonder why I don't have a team Gale or Peeta item. See, I have this issue, I loved both of them! I think they were both amazing, and sweet, and handsome, and loving, and caring, and well yeah, you get it right? It was very hard for me to chose a team so I just didn't.
I love the way it ended. It was perfect.
In the movie I almost cried when Katniss and Peeta kissed for the first time (You know, when he was in the cave) and the showed Gale's face. I honestly was closer to crying at that moment then I was when Rue died, even though I was really close to crying then too.
Anyway, before I start going on and on about how much I loved the movie and the books (Honestly, the books more) I will leave you with this...
May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor...

{Fridays Letters} School

Photobucket

Dear school,
Thank you for being there to educate us but do you really have to make us get up so early? I think we could fit our classes into a 9 to 3 schedule. Really do we have to have a credit for P.E? If we didn't we could make it six classes a day which would shorten the length to 6 hours instead of 7. If we did that we could meet you at 9, not 8, and still get all the learning in we need. I'm not saying that P.E. is bad, but can't we choose that as one of our electives instead of a credit class? I'm just trying to figure out a way to meet you later is all cause I really like my sleep. If you have any suggestions please write back :)
Thank you!
Bella

{Spark} Back to School

spark 1 noun- anything that activates or stimulates; inspiration or catalyst.

I know some have already gone back to school, but I go back this week. I'm kinda nervous but that's because I'm just afraid I'm gonna get lost :) I did go there last year though so it won't be too bad...
Okay let's get going here!
What do you think of going back to school?
Here's what I think of:

Slowly but surely getting back to waking up early...

New clothes!

School supply shopping...

Summer reading when you wish to be reading another
book (Short Straw Bride).

First day of school. See the nerves?

This is where the parents get their nerves: Sending
their kids off to school.

Wanna hear something cool? As I was writing this I got my schedule! I know where everything is so no getting lost for me! :)
I hope you have a fantastic school year!

{Thriftaholics} Soda Bottle Painting

So, I didn't really get this at a thrift store, or a yard sale. However, I did get the wood for free from my Grandaddy's, and grabbed an empty two liter from the kitchen when it was gone, so it is technically still a thrift find. Right? Just had to clear this up before we get started :)

I found my inspiration for this on Pinterest, and I decided to give it my own spin.
It looks easy right?
It's only three steps!

Supplies:
Two liter soda bottle
Scrap wood (you could use a canvas)
Acrylic paints in your color choice

Instructions:
1. Pour Paint on the Plate (Ha! It rhymes!)
You simply take a plate (preferably styrofoam so it doesn't soak through) and pour the color paint you want on it.

2. Paint the Tree
Using your color choice for the tree trunk, paint a line or whatever shape you want, onto your wood. Then, paint the same type of lines but smaller in length coming off the main trunk for your branches.

Here are the THREE ways to do your flowers. Please read all before actually starting on one :)

1. Flower with a Center

Cover the WHOLE bottom of your soda bottle with paint. When you press the bottle onto your wood, make sure you pick it up quickly in order for you to just get the petals and center.
*I haven't done this one yet so I really have no tips for it. As soon as I do this type I will add my tips :)

  2. Polka Dot Flower
In this step, the bottom of the bottle will be your paint brush. So, take the bottom of your bottle and gently put it into the paint on your plate. Put it in just enough that the "petals" get wet with paint. You don't want the of the bottle middle to have paint on it.
After getting the paint on the bottle place the bottom of the bottle on the ends of your branches. If you want you can place a couple close to the branches but not necessarily on them.

3. Flower Without a Center (This is the one I used)
To make these types of flowers you have to make the dotted flowers first. So, go ahead and follow the instructions for Polka Dot Flowers then continue onto this next step...
In order to make the dots into tear drop shaped flower petals you actually make a "party hat" first. Picture the dot as the face. You want to put a triangle party hat on the face pointing towards the middle of your flower. Once you have the hat you simply fill in the triangle and blend it in with the circle (This way people can't tell that its just a triangle and circle). The ultimate look of the flower is to get all the petals pointing towards the middle, not necessarily touching in the middle unless you want them to.

 3. Admire Your Work
You just made a beautiful piece of art in about five minutes! Be proud of yourself :)

As you can tell, I added a few extra things to mine with paint pens after the paint dried.
I wanted mine to be a little whimsical.
Feel free to do whatever you wish to yours. After all, it is your masterpiece!

I hope you enjoyed this DIY! If you have any questions about it, or if you just want me to admire your work with you, feel free to email me at arahblog@yahoo.com!

Hey guys I have some fun news! Starting next month SPARK is going to become a  monthly linky party! My mommy over at Just a Little Creativity, my best friend over at Beautifully Blended Victoria, and I are joining together to make SPARK a linky party. Each month there will be a theme or subject and you can link up all throughout the month with posts based on that theme. A calender of the months and their themes should be up soon.

In honor of this new linky party that's going to take place, this weeks Spark is 'Something New'. This one will be harder but i'm gonna attempt it!

My New Florida and Southern Blogger Buttons

I'm proudly a southern blogger! Yes, I do live in the south. I love sweet tea and I say "yall" all the time. One of my favorite sports to watch is racing and I love to live on a lot of land. When a daddy has a beautiful girl we say "You'd better get your shot gun ready." (some of you will get this later). But listen, I am not a redneck, I'm just a little bit country, please don't get me confused.
Any of this sound like you? Let me know by commenting below!

I'm also a Florida blogger. I actually don't really like going to the beach that much, but I have that option everyday. It's burning up hot here in the summer but not just the warm hot, it's humid hot. In the winter? It's not freezing but not cold. My favorite season down here is fall, it' perfect weather!

Are you a southern blogger or Florida blogger? Click on these buttons, which should be on your left, and put them on your blog! Make sure to link up and let us know that your out there!
